Two are better than one…

You and your significant other of the opposite sex. Although not before long, either one of you will do something that will nearly shake your the foundations of your nee found marriage. It happens in most every case, yet your commitment to stay together only grows stronger if both of you choose to stay together.

More importantly, consider your relationship with you and God. However, it is because of our bad habbits that we, including myself, that we say, “God wouldn’t put me through this if He didn’t think we could handle it.” Really? Who are we fooling!

In fact, Mattew 11:29-30 says this, “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle & lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” .

The yoke is used for cattle. Typically a wooden bar by which two animals (such as oxen) are joined at the heads or necks for working together.

Hmm… Jesus says, “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” A yoke is meant for two cattle or oxen, but did Jesus use this for two people? “Huh, keep going,” you say.

Earlier in the Holy Bible, in Ecclesiastes 4:9-11, King Solomon says,

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will liftup his fellow. But woe to him who is left alone when he falls & has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone?”

“Hmm…” In the ark, the animals came two by two. God created Adam & Eve. “Hmm..” Mark 6:7-13, Jesus sends out the twelve apostles two by two. There is something about the number 2.

The apostle Paul always had a companion. Paul and Barnabas. Paul and Silas. Paul and Timothy. Paul and Titus. Wait a second. Two are better than one? In fact, Ecclesiastes 4:12 states,

“And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him-a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

“Who is that 3rd person?” Glad you asked. JESUS CHRIST!!! If you two base your relationship on Him, whether it be as a married couple or just friends like David & Jonathan, Peter & John, it will be a hard time for satan to get in between you two. Or should I say 3?
