Are you suffering from a broken heart?  The Lord is close to you…

Overall, we all like to feel good. We like to feel fantastic. We like to feel … anything but broken hearted. It’s almost been a year since Carrie Fisher .death. I believe she died on a plane suffering from a stroke. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds died the next day, suffering from a broken heart. How tragic.

In the book of Psalms, specifically Psalms 34:18, it says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (NIV). How come so many people die seemingly alone? They die without any resolution to their life. Why?

They don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Many times in my own life, things went bad; I was broken hearted; I was crushed in spirit. However, just before that, things were looking up. I was living life with the confidence that Jesus Christ was Lord and all of that, then in the course of one summer morning, I was taken along like a rollercoaster causing me to doubt God.

At a new low point in my life, God let me stew in my own juices for a month. Stew, & stew, & stew. Then, the Holy Spirit gently nudged me to turn my attention to Job, chapters 38-42.

Job, through suffering countless loss of his sons & daughters, attacks upon his health, & three so-called friends, & his wife who tells him to curse God & die. Great advise! Not!!! In chapter 38-41, it’s God’s answering Job through a cloud stating was he there when He created it all. In chapter 42, Job begins with his ultimate apology to the Lord, & the Lord accepts it. Elsewhere in the 66 letters that comprise the Bible, Jesus Christ says that He will never leave you or forsake you. And even Jesus Christ (the Son of the living God), His prayer in the garden of Gestheme for God the Father to save Him from physical death, wasn’t granted. HOWEVER, JESUS went through with the whole passion, ultimately granting us a way to heaven. 🤗🤗🤗
Here’s a song to give you encouragement as you’re going through a broken heart or a crushed spirit:

Update on “I sinned today…”

Well, since that Friday a couple weeks ago, I been conscious on how I treat the woman that is my co-worker. Remember that person on whom I had the trouble with understanding since she spoke Spanish. I started treating her better, & today I did a few things that were a part of her job. I did them quietly, & I believe she took notice because she waved @ me when she left as she was going home.

Thanks for praying! 😁

Scared Crooked to Scared Straight…

We are having a Trunk or Treat @ Christ Community Church of Weare, NH. If your in Southern NH, you should check us out. It is happening from 2-4pm on Saturday.

Although we will have fun there, we plan on doing everything from playing games for candy, face-painting for candy, Police & Firetrucks for candy, Smores for candy, candy for candy, etc… The pastor’s intent is to give every little child a boat load of candy in 2 short hours so that you will return to the church the very next day to curse him out for the multiple cavities given to the children the previous day.

Honestly, Christ Community Church loves the Weare community. We just want to join in on all the excitement this weekend brings. So, come one, come all! And we’ll show you how to move from Scared Crooked to Scared Straight!

ATWT…

My daughter & I went to a Lecrae concert tonight! Both my daughter & I are super pumped, & it did not disappoint. See, we ordered the tickets to the All Things Work Together (ATWT) back in the late part of August. Why did Lecrae name his new set of music the ATWT Tour?

Simple, if you have been keeping track of Lecrae through various social media posts, then you know that he is having a hard time with his Christianity. Yet, Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that for those who love God, All Things Work Together for good for those that are called according to His purpose.”

I can identify with him since a few years after I swore my allegiance to Jesus Christ, I have been hit with amazingly hard stuff, the most of which is the result of my horiffic death-defying car accident I was in shortly after I graduated from high school.

But, Lecrae doesn’t come out with to much detail in his interviews & what not, but you can understand him through his songs & book called, “Unashamed.” And, it is always a pleasure to see someone giving their life over to God even through the tough times. Lecrae’s passion is music, mine-writing what I think through this blog, all to the glory of God the Father through Jesus Christ.

Yours? It maybe different. But pursue your passion all to the glory of God the Father through Jesus Christ, His Son.
For Paul says through Colossians 3:22-25, “Bondserants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by the way of eye-service, as people pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord & not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive an inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, there is no partiality.”

The Wind Blows Wherever It Wishes…

Look at this picture. Ok, it is a beautiful picture of a man wind sailing over the deep blue ocean. Off in the distance, it’s the coast with what looks like windmills going at a feverish pace. Nice, huh? Yet, what is holding the man up? It’s his incredible feets of strength? No, no, it is the parachute? No, please let me describe.
Taken from John 3:1-8, Nick is the ruler of the Jews, & he wanted to see Jesus since he heard all the commotion about Him. Furthermore, Nick is no dummy because he comes to Jesus at night & as one of the many rulers of the Jews as he says, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God, for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him.” Hmm…
Jesus answers him with an answer he wasn’t seeking, at least not by his question. Jesus answers him, “Truly, truly, I say unto you, unless a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” As bright as he is, this one stumped him as Nick said, “How can a man be born when he is old? How can a man be born a second time?”
Jesus calmly answered, “Truly, truly, I say unto you, unless one is born of water & the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh; that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, & here its sound, but you don’t know where it goes. So It is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Now back to the picture…

See, the wind is invisible powering the person to go & wind sail. The same goes for us True Life Christians. We cannot do anything on our own. Oh, wait a minute, as you say, “What about the parachute that empowers the perspn to go, thus moving that person?”

It is simple. Without the Spirit, we can do nothing. The parachute is just a tool just like college is a tool for further eduation. However, when you get out in the real world, you finally realize this is where the rubber meets the road. Just think about it…

Beautiful Scenery…

At Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine, this one of many beautiful pictures I took with my phone. Outstanding, huh! Beautiful beyond description.

My mother & I went to the Grand Canyon about a year ago. Thanks to her, I get to cross off my list of things to see before I die physically. Pictures don’t do it, however. You have got to see it for yourself in order to get the true appreciation for it.

This is a pic of my little talented nephew, & set behind him is a beautiful waterfall in Tuscon, Arizona. The beauty is outstanding.

This a pic of the amazing sunset at Marginal Way @ Ogunquit, Me. Amazingly beautiful scenery! AndI have seen places like St. Thomas with Megan’s Beach that the ocean is warm & clearing turquoise blue water.

Or the Niagara Falls in upper New York.

All these places I got to visit. However, I would be a fool to say that because I visited these places that I’m satisfied.
As beautiful scenery goes, I have been blessed here on this earth. Yet, it is a deep yearning within each person to yearn for something eternal, including myself. In fact, God says it through Solomon as Ecclesiastes 3:11 states, “He (God) has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”

As beautiful as this world is, there is something eternal for everyone. However, if you don’t accept Him & let God lead in your life on earth, then you are doomed for eternal death instead of eternal life. Think about it!

God’s Beautiful Creation

Stressing, Worrying & Anxiousness…

Our family -1 were having a conversation about stressing, worrying & anxiousness. See, my wife’s work is putting to many demands on her for a 40 hour per week job. She is doing 3 jobs wrapped up into 1. By the way, she is salaried (what that actually means is you are doing much more than what the original job called for), & she is stressing big time.

Did you ever know that wisdom comes from the mouth of children? Well, it did for my wife as our yougest child (14) said that stressing is a form of worrying, & she said it liked she believed it.
The rest of us adults, should take warnings from our children-stressing, worrying, & anxiousness will kill us. Don’t believe it’s true? Tell ya what. I’m going to prove it to you as a rabbi 2000 years ago said something about this very issue; he said, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, & the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And by which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to the span of his life?” Obviously, to us true life Christians, this saying comes from Jesus Christ, specifically from Matthew 6:25-27. Wise, huh. Who knew that wisdom could be found in the Scriptures? Especially what Jesus said. Hmm…

Saying Goodbye for Now…

The father’s role is of utmost importance, especially with daughters. With God’s help, I have tried to be there for my daughters i.e. praying for them, taking them to school & picking them up, taking them out on dates to show them how to be respected & loved as women, driving them to youth group & summer camps, asking them questions as to what they learned from various places, etc… All in all, to send them off to experience true life by themselves + 1 (the Holy Spirit who lives within their soul).

Well, the time came last year for our oldest daughter at 18. However, she didn’t have enough cash, money, or “cheese” to go to undergraduate college as she was realizing her dreams of going to college were gone, at least for last year. As you can imagine, our oldest felt depressed questioning if she really wanted to go to college as a result of that experience. I could identify with her, as a horrible, horrific, & tragic car accident almost took my life when I was 18.

So, I could have identified with her better, by sharing my inner most feelings with her during that time of my life. However, I failed in that area, but I continued to pray for her knowing that God knows what is going to happen with the rest of her life, & we do not. (*Confession, I even thought that a horrible accident would happen to her while she was waiting to make her onstage career given what happened to me when I was 18)

But, thankfully that didn’t happen; instead, she worked & did online college. Then, suddenly, she announced that she wanted to go down to Liberty University to check out CFAW (College For A Weekend). Once she told me that, I knew by the Holy Spirit that she would be attending there this fall.

Where is she right now? At LU, studying Theatre as her major. Yet, it doesn’t seem like I had enough time with her. Saying goodbye for now, wasn’t easy. And, yes I still miss her.

Thinj of the feelings Jesus is going through. It was common when I was growing up that Jesus doesn’t have feelings. As John 11:35 says,

“Jesus wept.” (ESV)

Yet, that’s why Jesus promised us a Comforter, the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39), when He went away to build us mansions in heaven (John 14:1-3). Let those that have the Holy Spirit, not let Him go to waste. 😉

For Jesus is currently busy with building our mansions! So wait until Jesus comes back for His believers aka true life Christians; as the great commission tells us, we have a duty to spread the Word!

Whatever you do…

This is a continuation of yesterday’s post. While coming to work, I was still kinda bummed over yesterday afternoon (see When Telling the Truth Hurts…). However, I did it & don’t have any regrets doing it. I did not buckle under pressure thanks to the Holy Spirit who lives inside me. Further, I am at work with that said staff. This particular staff doesn’t know that he is being investigated (or I don’t think so cause if he did then he is the type that it will make it known to everybody that is involved with the sitiation).

Then, I saw Scripture on my phone. It comes from Colossians 3:17 (ESV). It goes like this, “And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Whatever? Whatever! In work or in deed? That is what the Scripture says. Giving thanks to God? It appears so, & that is where I really failed. I was so concerned about how I would look, yet that Scripture won out this time.

Think about how freeing practicing the Scripture can be? Think about how freeing living like Jesus can be according to 1 Peter 2:21? Think about how freeing living like Jesus through the Holy Spirit? Are not for sure if you are living with the Holy Spirit? How can Jesus Christ be in you without the Holy Spirit? If you have Jesus Christ in your life, then you have the Holy Spirit individually. 😁 How freeing! 😄

When Telling the Truth Hurts…

Just as was rolling in to my second job today, I was ever so softly greeted by the one that was doing an internal investigation. If you know me, I would like to keep the peace as much as possible, in work, at home, where ever I might be. That’s just how I am, whether good or bad. So, for me to be greeted with an internal investigation heightened my awareness.

The person asked me some questions about work and staff. This same person tried to put me at ease, saying that it wasn’t about me but an internal investigation. That still does not make me feel any better as I answered the questions pointing out one specific person who I like.

As Jesus said in John 8:31b-32, “If you abide in my Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Those verses kept echoing in my head as I answered those questions. It wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure the one who told the honest truth. Yet I knew tha Jesus lives within me, and I couldn’t face Him if I lied.

I sinned today…

20161107_122617_optimized1591390573.jpg

It is a beautiful morning here in New Hampshire in which I arrived early for work. After punching in, I am having a difficult time relating to my new co-worker because she doesn’t speak any English. My attitude turned slowly sour towards her since I can’t communicate in Spanish. If you know me, I like to get to know you. That’s just the way I am. But, she doesn’t speak any English. FRUSTRATING!!

I know God died for her, but a litany of complaints came up in my mind, especially “if immigrants want to work here in America, they should learn to speak English.” I am in all support of immigrants working. I believe they should get the same pay. I believe…, until it affects me personally.

Pretty soon afterwards, the Holy Spirit brought to my memory the Jews, the Samaritans, & how Jesus dealt with the apparent feud going on between these two peoples. I’ll let John speak about it.

In the HOLY BIBLE, the apostle John records the incident that happened in John 4:1-45. Jesus and His disciples were going to Galilee; however, they had to cross through Samaria. Jesus was tired, so He decided to pull off at Jacob’s watering well while His disciples went off to the city to buy some food.

About the 6th hour, Jesus asked from a Samaritan woman for a drink of water. At first reading, Jesus seems to ask a woman for a drink of water. No big deal, right? That’s where your wrong. See, Jesus, a Jew, wouldn’t be caught dead speaking to a Samaritan, especially a Samaritan woman.

Jews detested the Samaritans, & it goes back to the Northern & Southern Kingdoms of Isreal, 1000 years give or take a few centuries. With all that history behind them, you begin to understand the issue surrounding these two people’s. To say the least, Jesus shouldn’t have been talking to a Samaritan., even if He was going to die from thirst. But, Jesus does!

This amazement was shared by the Samaritan woman as well as she said, “How is it that You, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” Jesus calmly retorted, “If you knew the gift of God, & you knew who it is that is saying this to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him & He would have given you living water.”

Hmm… You can’t argue with that. Jesus, a Jew, takes the most despised people for the Jews, & He talks to her , not in a condescending way but as a person.

Please keep me in prayer as I repented of my sin. I will keep my eyes focused on Him; though I at a loss to bridge the gap so I can show her Christ.

Trees…

15076728107401681668921.jpg

Trees. I like to look at trees who are free of that pretty little vine-like weed. They look so pretty, so you let them grow until it surrounds the whole tree. While that pretty little vine continually grows, it is slowly chokes out the beautiful tree hoping one day to be majestic.

That is how sin is. It often looks pretty. It is seductive just enough until you give in a little bit. But it’s not done yet. Like that little vine-like weed, it grows to consume that beautiful tree. Although pretty, if you don’t take care of the problem right away, it will consumes you, especially true life Christians.

What is a true life Christian? They are current, unashamed, active believers in Jesus Christ who appear as regular people though, through the Holy Spirit which permeates through their body, act in a way that points them to Jesus Christ. How do we recognize them? Probably, you are closer than you think.

“Facts”-Lecrae

Las Vegas Shootings…

“Trust in the Lord with with all your heart, & do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, & He will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

With all the shootings & death this week in Las Vegas, do you think that the shooter would go a different path if he trusted the Lord with all his heart & leaned not on his own understanding?
What could make the difference in the shooter’s thinking? If he would only acknowledge Jesus Christ continually, then he wouldn’t have shot multiple shots into multiple people in a crowd at a concert. The shooter’s mind would rather be concerned with pleasing God by doing good & share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God (Hebrews 13:16).
So, what is the overall assessment of this? If the shooter would have just changed his ways to follow Jesus Christ, then the mass shootings would not have taken place, many people would be alive, many people would not be hurt, & the shooter would be alive, probably seeking ways to help out in order to do good in order to please God.

Shootings, Murders, People Hurt, and a Single Verse…

The verse of the day by youversion came from Hebrews 13:16. The verse says, “Do not neglect to do good & to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Hmm… That single verse has the power to change our thinking if you have reverence for God, doesn’t it? In the midst of the shootings, murders, & people hurt brought to light by the media, don’t you think something’s gotta change in order to stop incidents like the Vegas shootings that happened this week; or the the Baltimore Riot; or the Orlando Shootings that a person was fed up with gay people so he attacked a popular gay bar; or the white person who walked into a “black” church & shot people dead on the east coast of America.

Now, it isn’t the purpose of this website to denounce anything, but point to the Word of God. WWJD seems appropriate here. What Would Jesus Do.

Jesus would be sort of a rebel, here. Loving instead of hating, even by the religious people. Caring instead of being stand-offish, all to bring glory to God the Father. “DO NOT NEGLECT TO DO GOOD & SHARE WHAT YOU HAVE, FOR SUCH SACRIFICES ARE PLEASING TO GOD!”

“Me Without You”-Toby Mac

Rebel for Jesus Christ

As we were discussing what would go on our car for a licence plate, we came up with a combination of possibilities like 4GIVNES, GSUSFRK, JSUSFRK, FRK4JC, & RBLS4JC. Finally, we decided on REBL4JC.

That is good, but it would be nothing if it weren’t true. We try to be a rebel for Jesus Christ everyday. Where do you stand for being a rebel for Jesus Christ?

Promises and Forgiveness

After hearing an inspiring message on promises this morning, the guest speaker had an interesting point. In the Garden of Eden, Adam & Eve sinned thus making it impossible for the rest of us to not keep our promises 100% of the time.

We make promises all the time, as little as-“I’ll be there at 3:30pm,” you promise, but then 3:30 comes around. Your not there! You can blame traffic, or you miss judge the time it will take, or some other event that took precedence so you were not there on time. Things like that.

Yet, God keeps watch over our promises. For every promise that we fail to keep, there is God’s forgiveness knocking at your door. For every broken promise that people make (past, present, future), there is a promise that will never fail, God’s promise.
As Romans 15:7-9 states, “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, to the glory of God. For I tell you that Christ had become a servant to the circumcised to show God’s truthfulness, in order to give the promises to the patriarchs, in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy. As it written, ‘Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name.'”
So the final word to Christians is whenever it is possible, keep your promises because that is how people without Christ in their lives will know the difference. If you fail, repent of that sin of not fulfilling that promise that you made, then ask the Jesus Christ to make it so that you can point people that are without Him to Him by keeping your promises.
Promises & Forgiveness, who ever knew they are 2 peas in the same pod?

Tasks…

“We have plenty of tasks to do today,” my wife claimed as I sitting on the edge of our bed just getting through talking to our oldest who is off to Liberty University. First task I have to do today, I need to shower. Next, if you would like to join me, I have several tasks that we need to do today. Even though there are other things I could do with my time other than “tasks,” I decided to be a good husband & join her with our youngest daughter (who by the way just started ninth grade). All the sympathies, compassion, & empahies will accepted gladly! 😭(😁)

I got to thinking how can I apply what went on today in doing “tasks” to http://www.truelifechristianity.com? Then the Holy Spirit reminded me just as you do tasks in life, there are certain required spiritual tasks that we, as Christians, should make common place without losing its meaning i.e. praying to Jesus Christ because He’s the One who suffered it all, communion, praising Him, doing whatever to make His glory known throughout the earth, etc…

Do you think I have attained it all? Nope. But, according to 1 Peter 2:21, it says, “To this you were called, because Jesus Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, leaving you an example that you should follow in His footsteps.” Yet, don’t you think it’s our duty to give these spiritual tasks never-ending amounts of tries? I think so. No, I know so!

🙏ing for you!
