Many years ago, Jesus Christ physical body was dead…

Many years ago, things looked bleak because the Jews had hoped for a physical conqueror. In their minds, Jesus was closest they were going to get; that’s why they gave Him a parade nearly a week earlier preceding the horrific execution on the cross.

Back then, for those Jews that held out hope that Jesus would perform another miracle by coming down from the cross in triumphant victory, were ultimately disappointed. Jesus Christ body was physically dead, crushing all their hopes of getting under Roman rule.

But, wait! I feel like something is going to happen!

What If I Stumble?

Imagine just walking along and someone or something causes you to trip or stumble? Or worse yet, you trip up under your own feet causing you to stumble. How embarrassing! You tries to pass it off as a purposeful stumble, or make it like it didn’t even happen especially those that are in your direct vicinity. Again, how embarrassing?

We, then, try to make sure that it never happens again until … it does. Maybe the last time you stumbled was when you were a toddler? Or, maybe you are in rush to get to some place so you don’t miss the concert, protest, or a game, and you stumble that way? TRUE, there are many ways we can stumble.

People, in their search for meaning, try various ways in which to develop full spirituality. Often, however, they go down the wrong path to include beliefs like atheism to all religious beliefs including everything is god, trying to please their god.

Yet it is not like that for the True Life Christian. Grace is the calling card for them, as the only God offers that through His Son. Once and for all. Although we need to keep our sensitivity up for sin and be reminded of how short we fall to God’s glory. So, even though we are forgiven by God (once and for all), we need to be reminded of God’s grace until His Son comes back by asking for forgiveness continuously.

Although for True Life Christians, we can still stumble along the path to righteous living through God, not by our own merits but through Jesus Christ’s alone.

So rest assured, for the True Life Christian, we are not without hope because Hebrews 11:1 says,

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (KJV)

For the True Life Christian to stumble means we have hope of grace given to us of the Person who went through it already, and it culminated with His death on the cross (Isaiah 53:3-5).

I have always been about balance in my life. To look at life through the lenses of balance can be quite exhilarating; though, there are instances when balance seems not to go to far like the case of where one of your family members was murdered by an assailant. Your desire for revenge may be insatiable.

I completely understand. Yet, take a look at this verse. It comes from Romans 12:19-

Beloved, never avenge yourseves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengence is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (ESV)

In this mis-often quoted verse, Christians use it as their justification for their acts committed “in the name of Jesus.” In some instances, it can even taken up by the world as justification. How sad! For who can think of anything that compares with hell where Satan and all his cronies will be.

Curious about leaving revenge to the Lord Jesus Christ, I spent countless hours in talking to God, He revealed to me in this particular question: “What is worse than spending an eternity without God?” Awestruck, in my mind I answered, “NOTHING!!!”

Although True Life Christians have a fun side too. We are not just about the religiosity of this world. In fact, we are about relationship with the Most High rather than man-made religion that worships anything but the True God.

There are many types of stones. Big ones, small ones, misshapen ones, ones that have been perfectly shapened by water, and ones that are jagged. For Stones can be used for a variety of purposes.

Here are some of the ways they be used. Stones that can be used for good purposes like building a house, or they can be used as decorative purposes like a house decor or for the public to enjoy at your local park. They can even be used for evil purposes like a stoning when they stoned Stephen in Acts of the Apostles (Acts 7:54-60).

But then again, it can be used for God’s purposes like in Deuteronomy 24:7 in order to purge out the evil of anyone stealing in the Israeli camp. This would lead us human beings to believe that stones could be used for a variety of purposes. Given that we have free-will in order to choose Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world, which stone will you be?

A stone of decorative purposes which will have no eternal significance? Or a stone used for evil purposes which you either believe that this life is all there is, or you choose to worship Satan wanting to “impress” him by all the evil your doing. Or for good purposes in which you are in the area of pleasing God by letting Him direct your path. However, by choosing to be a stone used for good purposes for God, you might be subjecting yourself to pain like found in The Foxes Book of Martyrs for God’s glory.

Suffering for God’s Glory? Is God Truly Present In Times of Suffering?

Dr. Victor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning author among many other books, was a Jew. Also, he suffered at concentration camps as a Jew over in Germany run by the regime of Adolf Hitler in the early 1940’s during World War 2. While going through the many concentration camps including Auschwitz, he developed logotherapy which helped him get through that hell-on-earth time in the Nazi concentration camps.

Logotherapy (comes from a Greek word logos-“meaning”) holds that our primary drive in life is not pleasure, as Freud maintained, but the discovery and pursuit of what we find personally meaningful. (Man’s Search for Meaning, 2006-a commentary given by Harold S. Kushner author of When Bad Things Happen To Good People)

For True Life Christians this can only be One thing: the ultimate edification of Jesus Christ who gave us a suffering example of life while were here on this earth (1 Peter 2:21). Jesus Christ becomes the ultimate pursuit of meaning!

To quote from Albert Einstein, “The man who regards his life as meaningless is not merely unhappy but hardly fit for life. (The Will To Meaning by Victor Frankl, 1988-page 50)

If you don’t take Dr. Victor E. Frankl or (possibly one of the smartest people in current history) Albert Einstein’s words for it, turn to the Holy Bible. You will find in there a book with ultimate meaning, Ecclesiastes.

It was written by King Solomon (the wisest person throughout time), and the book of Ecclesiastes was essentially an experimentation of all that he knew and didn’t know just to find out if there was meaning in the world. He tried EVERYTHING! However, King Solomon, in all his wisdom, has one bit of advice in the last two verses of the book. Thus if you have the power to obey these verses, it will have the power to transform meaninglessness into holy meaning:

Now everything has been heard, so I give my final advice: Honor God and obey His commands, because this is all the people must do. God will judge everything, even what is done in secret, the good and the evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, NCV)

Not quite convinced yet? Take Jesus Christ’s words for it. Jesus says that the most important command is this:

Jesus answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. (Matthew 22:37, NCV)

So, why wait. In this life, if suffering for Jesus Christ’s name brings blessings from God in heaven, bring on the suffering for Jesus! It would truly mean Suffering for God’s Glory.
