The Pool in Bethsadia has been corroborated: John wrote about the existence of a pool in Bethsadia (John 5:1-9), and said that it was located at the region of Jerusalem before the sheep gate that were surrounded by 5 porticoes. For many years, there was no evidence of such a place outside of John’s Gospel. Skeptics, again, pointed to this passage of Scripture and argued that John’s Gospel was written late in history by someone who was unfamiliar with the features of the city. In 1888, however, archeologists began excavating the area near St. Anne’s Church in Jerusalem and discovered the remains of a portico. . .” ~ J. Warner Wallace
